Prince George’s County’s TheBus
General information
- Fixed route system consists of 26 routes that cover more than 10,000 miles throughout the County
- Operates Monday through Saturday, 6:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. (varies by route)

- One-way trip
- Adults: $1.00
- Seniors and Disabled: Free
- Youth Ages 5-18: Free
- Bus Passes
- TheBus accepts cash and SmarTrip cards for payment of fares. Pennies are not accepted. Bus-to-bus transfers are free only when using SmarTrip. Other passes are available (such as weekly or monthly). Please have exact fare ready when you board. Drivers do not carry change.

- In preparation for the launch, passengers can access the real-time website (beta).
Microtransit – PGC Link
- Service Hours: 10:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, accepts only same day reservations. Wait times for service are subject to vehicle availability and demand.
- Service Area:
- I-495 on the north, the Potomac River on the west, Old Fort Road on the south, Bock Road, and the communities of Palmers Corner, Friendly, Fort Washington Forest on the west, Accokeek and Berry Road-MD 228 on the south.
- In the South County -Fort Washington service area, you can take PGC Link anywhere within the 22-square mile service area. Passengers will not be picked up or dropped off in areas outside the zone.
- Popular Destinations: connects riders to the Old Forte Village Shopping Center, Fort Washington Hospital, National Harbor, Harmony Hall, Tanger Outlets, Livingston Square, MGM Casino, Accokeek Branch Library and Accokeek Park & Ride.
- Fare: $2 with the Transloc app. Cash, Tokens and SmarTrip cards are not accepted on PGC Link vehicles.
- Transfer Opportunities: PGC Link customers can transfer to TheBus Route 35 and Metrobus NH1 at the Oxon Hill Park and Ride Lot, and bus stops along Oxon Hill Road wet of Livingston Road serving Metrobus NH1 and W14 and bus stops along Palmer Road serving TheBus Route 37.

- U-Pass is Metro’s college program offers full-time students at participating colleges and universities unlimited rides on Metrorail and Metrobus throughout the semester.
- Metro Lift
- Offers 50% off Metrobus and Metrorail trips for DC, Maryland, and Virginia customers enrolled in SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program)
Paratransit
Prince George’s County offers paratransit services to its disabled residents through four different programs.
Call-A-Bus
- Hours of service are 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday (excluding County holidays).
- Make a reservation up to 7 days in advance: Call 301-499-8603 between 7:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday (excluding County holidays).
- Same day requests are accepted, but are subject to availability of resources.
- Municipal Call-A-Bus: The following municipalities provide their own Call-A-Bus service.

Call-A-Cab
- Discounted taxi fare coupons: Disabled County residents may purchase up to fourteen $20 coupon books in a six-month period at $10 per book.
- Call a cab, show the driver the coupon book, and pay the fare with coupons and/or cash

Senior Transportation Services
- Includes younger individuals with disabilities who are Prince George’s County residents

- Offers transportation throughout the County for medical purposes
- Call 301-499-8603 up to 7 days in advance to schedule routine medical appointments. May also request on-going or permanent transportation for medical purposes, such as dialysis treatment, in writing.
MetroAccess – Regional Paratransit Service
- Shared-ride
- Door-to-door service
MetroAccess Abilities-Ride Program
- MetroAccess decides whether to send the regular MetroAccess shared-ride vehicle or to have a taxi cab or sedan provide the trip (curb-to-curb rather than door-to-door service).
- If ride is moved to an Abilities-Ride vehicle, customer gets a private ride, and fare is free
