    • * The L8 and T2 are Metrobus routes. Ride On operates these routes only on weekends.
Fares
  • Regular fare
    • $1.00 using SmarTrip, cash, or token
      • Free, when boarding with one of these passes:
        • Metrobus 7-Day Regional Bus Pass
        • MARC Weekly Pass, Monthly Pass, or Transit Link Card
        • MTA Commuter Bus Pass
  • Persons with Disabilities
    • Free at all times on all MCDOT bus; requires Medicare Card and Photo ID
    • Persons with disabilities with Metro Disability ID card and their attendants (now called the Reduced Fare SmarTrip Card)
  • MetroAccess Customers: Free at all times
  • Transfers from Metrorail
    • SmarTrip Transfer from local bus: Free
    • SmarTrip Transfer from Metrorail: $0.50 to Metrobus for Seniors & Persons with disabilities; FREE to Ride On

Montgomery County Ride On Buses

  • Free rides
    • All Ride On, Ride On extRa, Flash, and Flex buses
    • Metrobus routes: C2, C4, C8, F4, J1, J2, K6, K9, L8, Q1, Q2, Q4, Q5, Q6, T2, Y2, Y7, Y8, Z2, Z6, Z7, Z8
  • Discounted fares on some Metro buses (in Montgomery County)

Ride On extRa

Ride On Flex

  • Available in Rockville and Glenmont/Wheaton zones
  • Rockville zone hours: Mon-Fri, 9:00 am to 3:30 pm
  • Glenmont/Wheaton zone hours: Mon-Fri, 6 to 9 am & 3:30 to 7:00 pmHas no fixed stops or fixed schedules – it comes when you book a ride during regular service hours
  • Ride On Flex app
  • Call center: 240-301-3842 (hours are 6 am to 7 pm, Monday – Friday)
  • Must book rides only during scheduled hours of operation
  • Pay only standard Ride On fare to ride Flex—no more than $1

Flash Transit Network

  • Service on Colesville Road/Columbia Pike (US 29) with 12 stops from Silver Spring Transit Center to Briggs Chaney and Burtonsville
  • Vehicles arrive every 15 minutes or less. Where routes overlap, service is every 7 – 8 minutes during rush hour on weekdays

Connect-A-Ride (CAR)

Call-n-Ride (CNR) Program, including the Same Day Access (SDA) Program

  • Subsidized taxi fares (pay less than face value for “Call-n-Ride swipe card”
  • Subsidy based on age or disability eligibility and low income (cost of a $60 swipe card is $5.25 to $30, depending on income and family size)

Medical Assistance Transportation Program

  • Eligibility: Montgomery County residents who receive Medical Assistance and who need transportation in order to access medically necessary service
  • Available Monday – Friday, (except holidays), between 8:30 a.m. and 12:00 noon; may schedule up to 7 days in advance (no same day service available)

MetroAccess – Regional Paratransit Service

  • Shared-ride
  • Door-to-door service

MetroAccess Abilities-Ride Program

  • MetroAccess decides whether to send the regular MetroAccess shared-ride vehicle or to have a taxi cab or sedan provide the trip (curb-to-curb rather than door-to-door service).
  • If ride is moved to an Abilities-Ride vehicle, customer gets a private ride, and fare is free
