What is Be My AI?
Be My Eyes has added a digital visual assistant powered by OpenAI’s GPT-4, better known as ChatGPT. This AI option is called “Be My AI.” In earlier iterations, the tool was called “Virtual Volunteer,” so information referencing “Virtual Volunteer” from Be My Eyes is out of date.
How Can I Get Be My AI?
Be My AI is integrated into the (free) Be My Eyes app. Download the Be My Eyes app in the Apple App Store or the Be My Eyes app in the Google Play Store. To create your free Be My Eyes account, just enter your name, an email address, and a password.
At this time, Be My AI is an Open Beta version. This means that users may access Be My AI easily, but that the app is still in development.
How Do I Use Be My AI?
Be My AI requires both an internet connection and the use of your smartphone’s camera. To use Be My AI:
- Open the app on your smartphone.
- Go to the camera tab
- Take a picture.
- Wait. It may take several seconds. Then, the app will provide a written description of the picture you took.
